UK urged not to crush the “solar revolution”

Britain’s most influential environmental experts are urging the Government not to crush what they are calling the “solar revolution”.

Environmental groups are claiming that the UK has the lowest solar ambitions amongst their major EU counterparts, and the government have been blamed for not fully supporting plans by green energy companies for large scale solar farms.

Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and the Renewable Energy Association have joined forces with green energy companies, and they released a statement to call for action.”Given our economic situation, surely we should seize green growth with both hands. Instead our solar ambitions are weakening.”

The government so far has only replied by saying its policy is to try to ensure that all technologies get their fair share of funding.
