The Government of the Canary Islands supports the European Islands Pact with the goal of advancing renewable energy

Vice President and Minister for Employment, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, María del Mar Julius, signed on Tuesday, on behalf of all the islands, the European Islands Pact with the goal of advancing renewable energy.

Julius said in a statement that “the most important thing of all” is that the European island territories are united in urging the European Union (EU) and member states to provide specific legislation, specific funding and a specific pricing system in order to attain the “highest use of renewable energy.”
